A Canadian company was targeted for the misuse of Maori culture as apart for the branding of its "Haka Energy Drink". It was considered to be a major offense to the Maori's living in Canada and to those back home in New Zealand. The logo design for the energy drink had a tiki drawn in a cartoonist style rather than a warrior manner, and even branded it to woman bikini's for a commercial.

NCT 127

This K-Pop group (NCT 127) received negative responses for the misuse of a scene 0:18-0:23 of their video Simon Says where they had audio using a Haka chant from a wedding video. Its usage in the music scene was very inappropriate and did not not correlate with theme of their song, though they had had taken steps as to avoid inappropriate usage.
